Documents must meet state formatting requirements: 2-inch top margin on the first page, 1-inch margins on all other sides, minimum 8-point type, and standard paper size. Louisiana Civil Code Article 3338 requires recording to bind third parties. Under Louisiana Civil Code Article 2742, recorded documents become permanent Jefferson Parish archives and are not returned after filing.
